The F & I office has been a dealership profit center for decades, but changes in industry trends are placing pressure on F&I profit, prompting dealerships to restructure the F & I role.

The F & I manager is the second-highest-paid position in a dealership, according to the National Automobile Dealers Association's 2017 Dealership Workforce Study. The average salary for an F & I could easily average at 25K per month plus commission, according to the study.
